Corn grain - a priceless gift of nature

Corn grain is a seed, from which a plant is to grow. It contains all nutrients necessary for the plant to sprout and grow until the moment of developing roots of flag (first) leaves that enable taking food from the soil and the air (rains). So this is a kind of granary.

Corn grain has a protective cover, which protects it against damage. Under the cover there is the aleurone layer, which contains all minerals necessary in the initial growth phase of the plant. Under the aleurone layer there is the endosperm, which contains proteins and carbohydrates.

Grains, especially dry ones, are very difficult to consume and digest, that is why people grind grains and prepare them for consumption. Ground grains have a form of flour, groat or flakes.
